SILENT EXHIBITION:
history of NaZISM
in Austria
Action for Peace #31
What happened?
Preservation of memory signifies continuation of emancipation processes, respect for human rights and inclusive understanding.
SCI Austria organized a 7-day campaign: #SilentExhibition, in which they remembered different aspects of the Nazi regime in Austria:
- Victims
- Aggressors
- Myth of Austria as a victim of Nazi Germany
- Antisemitism today
They emphasized the importance of remembering the horrors of Nazi persecution in order to take action against right-wing extremism and related forms of violence we are witnessing today.
The campaign #SilentExhibition is part of “Nonviolent European Resistance Project” and is leading up to an Online Silent Exhibition on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, 27th of January.
The campaign opened the doors to a Silent Exhibition to commemorate the victims of Nazi persecution in Austria.
In the Silent Exhibition, they deepened the topics discussed in the previous campaign and gave special attention to the non-violent resistance against the Nazi regime in Austria.
We must continue to remember the atrocities of the Nazi-fascist regime to promote human rights and stand against dangerous trends challenging our societies today.
