What happened?
The event “Environment for Peace” which brought people from different ages, genders, backgrounds and nationalities together to work towards the same mission (Green Environment for Everybody) had four main goals:
- Improve participation in responding to environmental challenges
- Raise awareness for locals about current environmental issues at local and international level
- Promoting sustainable living in practice for local community
- Last but not least, promote Intercultural Understanding & Peace by bringing people from different backgrounds come and work together.
On 7th July 2019, in conjunction with SCI Asian Platform Meeting, STEP Forward Exchange – together with SCI Asian Development Committee had successfully conducted the Environment for Peace Day in Vung Tau, Vietnam – An event in the framework of SCI ‘s 100 Actions for Peace Campaigns.
The event named “Environment for Peace” brought people together to work towards the same mission: Green Environment for Everybody. Environment for Peace had 4 main aims:
(1) Improve participation in responding to environmental challenges
(2) Raise awareness for locals about current environmental issues at local and international level,
(3) Promote sustainable living in practice for local community
(4) Promote Intercultural Understanding & Peace by bringing people from different backgrounds and nationalities to share ideas with each other.
With these objectives, they proudly said that this Environment for Peace Day was the kick-off event in Asia to celebrate SCI 2020’s 100 Actions for Peace.
