Exposition for peace

Action for Peace #7

What happened?

At the time of the centenary of our peaceful movement, board members, employees and volunteers carried out a long research work, supported by the archivist of the SCI, to gather information and documents about the history of the movement and of its evolution, especially in France.

On this basis four panels and booklets on various and dear topics to SCI were created: “Building bridges, not walls”, “Say no to the army and choose a civilian service”; ” Where are the women ?” And “Deeds, not words! “. A vernissage inaugurating the exhibition took place on Sunday 17th of November from 3pm in the presence of several representatives of different branches of the movement!

SCI France president, Victor Ringot officially opened the exhibition with a speech by thanking the various people involved and present at the exhibition, including SCI friends but also communities representatives and general public.

They were also pleased to welcome several members of the International Secretariat team, who traveled especially for the occasion.

This was followed by a workshop on reasonable mobility and voluntarism for which local partners joined them.

They ended the festivities in a cozy atmosphere, discussing together with veterans, new and potential future volunteers. On that day  a mural made by a designer representing SCI values was also inaugurated, they felt so lucky to have such a talented volunteer! The four panels of the exhibition have been produced in two copies and one of them will be sent to local partners in France throughout the year 2020.
